Our History

Since a young man, Roger had the desire to build and work on custom vehicles, especially street rod, hotrods, muscle cars and modern custom cars.

In 1976, Roger attended Anoka Technical College during the day while working full-time at other jobs. Upon completion of his courses and certification, Roger went to work for a few of the local body shops. The work ethic of “The faster we get it out the better” he experienced at these shops didn’t set well with Roger. He felt that perfection was the key to success.

In July 1983, Roger took the leap and started his own custom car shop which started in a 2 stall garage. By 1987, the business was growing very fast and the working conditions were became too small. He purchased five acres of land and built a new residence with a 1,500 sp. foot car shop.

Soon, Roger desired to make the business grow even larger as things began to rapidly change. In 1988, Roger hired his first employee and added a 900 sq. foot addition to his shop to house larger car customization equipment.

Roger’s Rod & Customs, Inc. continued to grow at an alarming rate due to national recognition and increasing new customers. Roger opened a new state-of-the art 7,500 sq. foot auto custom shop which features a pitted down draft paint booth as well as the best car modification equipment available. He currently has 5 employees and they are working on 11 custom builds at a time.

The business has proven itself with many industry awards and their reputation is unbelievable. Work is sent to their cur shop from major insurance companies and numerous car enthusiasts from across the U.S.

1932 Ford Roadster

Because of our outstanding reputation and unparalleled craftsmanship, Minnesota Street Rod Association (MSRA) approached Roger and asked if he would be willing to head up a team of volunteers (all MSRA Members) and build a replica of the 1932 Ford Roadster on their logo for them to give away at their 30th annual Back to the 50s Car Show (which draws over 10,000 cars from across the U.S. and Canada). The outstanding work on this car has assisted in the continued outreach and growth of Roger’s Rod & Customs, and has gained them additional notoriety.

Roger’s Rod & Customs, Inc. is a one-stop shop. We build and repair hot rods in any stage of completion. We specialize in fixing the mistakes made by other car shops. Please contact us for all your current or future projects. Our future has never looked brighter, and we are looking forward to a bigger and better tomorrow working hard to make your custom cars come to life.
